This site is a client-side single-page application. All data is available as machine-readable JSON and plain text below.

- [All Books — JSON](https://cisd-books.boardmonitor.app/data/books.json): Complete dataset (~430 books) with full district action history, book metadata (plot, author bio, awards), and enrichment sources. Each record includes title, author, district actions (type, outcome, reason, policy, date), and enrichment data from Open Library, Google Books, and Wikipedia.

- [All Books — Plain Text](https://cisd-books.boardmonitor.app/llms-full.txt): Human-readable plain-text summary of all tracked books, suitable for direct AI consumption.

## Data Schema (books.json)

Each book record contains:
- `title`, `author` — book and author name
- `actions[]` — list of district actions, each with:
  - `type`: policy_removal | formal_reconsideration | informal_retained | informal_removed | acquisition_denied | board_challenge_pending
  - `outcome`: removed | retained | restored | not_ordered | pending
  - `reason_label`: district's stated reason (verbatim where available)
  - `policy_code`: EMB | EFB (district policy reference)
  - `date`: YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD
  - `process`: e.g. "Board of Trustees", "Reconsideration Committee"
- `enrichment` — plot summary, author bio, awards, cover image, cataloged audience

## Categories

- **Board Policy Removal (EMB-Local)**: ~258 books removed under Policy EMB (Teaching About Controversial Issues)
- **Formal Reconsideration**: Books that went through the Level 3 Board of Trustees challenge process
- **Informal Reconsideration**: Books reviewed at district level — retained or removed
- **Acquisition Denied**: Books denied purchase under Policy EMB before entering any library
- **Pending Challenges**: Books currently before the board (updated as new challenges arise)
